"Offer children a solid model of how to teach love, so we might finally begin to learn freedom."
Hello! My name is Esmeralda Garcia also known as Ms. Garcia. I am a local to North County San Diego and have such an admiration for my community. I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Health Science at CSU Fullerton. Quickly after graduating I began working in the health field for 3 years as a Health Educator. I loved what I did and felt I needed to further my education and pursue my passion for teaching. I am currently in the High Tech Graduate School of Education program to earn my Credential and Masters Degree.
I enjoy working with youth and adolescents and I have learned so much wisdom and strength from them. I have many years working with youth from: volunteering at a Montessori where my sister teachers pre-k, to working in afterschool programs (REACH, ASPIRE, MMEH, HTH Aftercare), and being a resident advisor to 54 freshman college students. I have had the honor and privilege of working with many age groups.
When I am not in a classroom you can find me at the San Diego Zoo; enjoying family time; or traveling the world with my partner and admiring the beauty of all different ways of living life.

Students' Thoughts on Ms. Garcia |
These are some of my favorite books that have helped me to grow as both an educator and learner. They are one of the many reasons I am so passionate about helping students find their voice.
